And finally, a big component to success is to set small, realistic goals and work towards them, rather then getting discouraged by the "big picture." If the individual focuses on small, attainable steps, value is given to what they are trying to accomplish. Too often, people get so discouraged that they are not slim and healthy overnight that they forget that lifestyle changes are a process, requiring time and effort. Setting goals for one day at a time, one week at a time helps individuals to take things in small enough increments to meet even the smallest of milestones. Eventually, through seemingly small steps, the "big picture" will be realized.
