Cutting Out Alcohol To Lose Weight

An occasional drink is not an issue when you want to lose weight, but if daily alcohol has become a part of your lifestyle then you may have to make an important decision if you want to shed those kilos.

One obvious problem with alcohol is the calories. Drinking is just adding to your daily energy intake. Its just more calories in. Mixed drinks have the added energy of cola or other soft drinks. Wines and beer have a high sugar content.

Another problem is that alcohol dulls the part in the brain which tells you when you have had enough, and as a consequence you will eat more when alcohol is consumed before or with a meal.

This is made worse by combining salty snacks with alcohol. At social functions you can just keep on grazing without any signal to stop. Then they serve the meal! Again more calories consumed.

Alcohol makes you sluggish and tired. When you drink you are less likely to exercise or be active. Therefore the extra calories you have consumed cannot possibly be burnt off. Drinking and excess food takes you further from your weight loss goal.

Alcohol prevents you from getting proper sleep. Alcohol may make you feel tired so that you drop off quickly. But you are likely to wake several times during the night, missing important delta phase repair sleep. Poor sleep is a known contributor to weight gain.

Alcohol consumption causes de-hydration which slows your metabolism by as much as 3%, reducing your ability to burn fat.

So what does alcohol offer you?
Does it help you to relax? Does it dull the stress in your life? Help you cope with the demands placed on you? Understanding why you drink will help you to stop drinking. If you are an alcohol then you need very specific help.

Weight loss hypnosis can easily help you break the emotional bonds you have created with alcohol. In most cases just one session is enough to separate yourself from drinking. All you have to do is want to lose weight and be prepared to quit alcohol and you will be successful.
Hypnosis takes the stress out of quitting alcohol. You will sleep better, you will have more energy, think more clearly and you will burn fat faster and eat fewer calories. Less stress means that your body and mind is much better equipped to release your excess weight for life.

What Kind Of Relationship Do You Have With Food?

This may seem like a strange question to ask, but we all have a relationship with food. And the kind of relationship will reflect in your weight.

In our lives we have many relationships with many people. Some are casual, some loving, some friendly, some distant and perhaps even some which are destructive.

Food is no different. A friend of mine a woman in her sixties, has virtually no interest in food. She forgets to cook and only eats to sustain herself. She is always slim but I feel she misses out on one of the pleasures of life.

Another man I know never eats vegetables and lives on meat, chocolate, cola drinks and cigarettes. In his late fifties his health reflects his lifestyle.

One family has a strong focus on food. Every occasion is marked by special meals and when their meals arrive at the table they cheer and take photos of the food. I admire their ability to celebrate but it can feel a little weird.

Another family has such a strong focus on healthy living that they seem to live and breathe it. They can tell you every food that is unhealthy and seem to know all the additive numbers by heart.
A young woman counts every calorie and feels hungry much of the time in her pursuit of a perfect body.
A man lives on takeaway junk food, he is in his mid thirties but has all the health risk factors of someone twice his age.

So what kind of relationship do you have with food? Do you lurch from diet to diet, count calories, or binge eat. Do you start a new diet every month only to give up after a few days, then feel miserable and start the cycle again and again.

Does the dessert menu or the baker shop torture you? Do you eat to release boredom or stress? Do you crave certain foods and over eat them.

If you are struggling with your weight then you will relate to something in this article. You don't need to struggle, by using weight loss hypnosis you can say goodbye to your bad relationships and finally develop a healthy relationship which will allow you to more easily reach your ideal weight, without all the past struggles and upsets.

At this moment it may feel uncomfortable to give up some aspects of your diet, but with hypnosis you will be surprised just how easy it will be.

How To Manage Boredom Eating

We all can feel bored at times, but it's important to identify boredom for what it really is. Is it that you have some time on your hands and you don't know what to do. Or is it that you are lonely or upset with your life.
Boredom is a stress and like all stresses it is either managed or it festers into a bigger stress. The problem is that many people choose food to manage the stress of boredom.

The problem is that boredom can continue for long periods but you just can't physically keep eating, so at
some stage you will have to contend with your boredom without eating.

So what are you going to do? Boredom eating is only a problem if you eat too much, and eat junk foods. If your weight is OK then you only have to worry about your arteries blocking up.

Otherwise if you want to lose weight you will need to create a few strategies.

Firstly you need to recognise that boredom is just another word for stress, and decide to find a way to manage the stress you are feeling. E.g. if you are lonely, until you find a way to deal with that feeling then you are likely to keep eating to relieve your stress.

The problem isn't food it's your stress issues. You see the point, in order to solve your boredom eating you have to address the stress behind it.

At times you may not feel particularly stressed but you eat to fill some gaps. Again the question is why. Why not read a book or do some chores, or watch television, so why food. What is the feeling you are trying to achieve with food. Another question to get to the bottom of.
You're bored, you eat, you feel better, or do you. Does filling up on whatever is at hand even if you're not hungry, solve your boredom? Does it actually make you feel better? Probably not if you are honest with yourself.

The best way to manage your boredom eating stress is with weight loss Hypnosis, you can easily break the connection between food and emotions. This won't solve your boredom, everyone gets bored, but it will help you find other ways to deal with the stress.
The hypnosis is a safe gentle way to easily and comfortably change the way you feel about food.

What Is the Best Cardio?

Cardio can be used as a great way to help anyone get into better shape. It is a good way to burn calories, and it improves your cardiovascular health. Many people out there are wondering what the best form of cardio is that will help to get them ripped. Some people might think that sprinting is the best form of cardio, while others may think that it is walking.
I am here to tell you that there is no "best" form of cardio. It is really just a personal preference on what it is that you like to do. If you like to go out for nice walks around your neighborhood, then that is your best cardio. This is because you will stick to it and not quit, you will be consistent with it so to speak. If sprinting is not enjoyable to you and you hate it, then you will likely end up quitting and not doing any cardio at all.
Some of you still might be thinking that sprinting is better than walking or jogging because it burn more calories. This is actually not true. If you walk, jog, or sprint 100 yards, you will burn the same amount of calories. The only difference is the time factor. You will spend a lot less time if you sprint or jog the 100 yards as opposed to walking it. This is why some people out there like to do high intensity interval training (HIIT) because it can burn a lot of calories in a short period of time. Doing HIIT is absolutely fine as long as you stick to it. On the other hand, if HIIT is too intense for you and you have the extra time, then you can walk and burn just as many calories.
It is also true that HIIT releases free fatty acids into the bloodstream. If you then followed the HIIT with a slow steady state cardio like jogging or walking, you would then burn off those free fatty acids released into the bloodstream. This is a great way to do cardio, but it will only work to burn fat if you are in a caloric deficit at the end of the day. This is why it does not matter if sprinting stimulates more fat burning hormones. If you are not in a caloric deficit, then any form of cardio will not do you any good. This is why I like to think of cardio as a tool that you can use to get in shape. Cardio is not a crutch that you have to rely on at all times. If you have a solid diet plan, then you can get in shape without cardio. At the end of the day, the best form of cardio is the cardio that you like and will continue to do.

You may choose from any of these fat-busting foods, but what matters is moderation in eating. Even if you consume these, and still over-eat, your preference would still be in vain. Stay healthy, eat healthy.

Instead of losing weight, shouldn’t it be losing or getting rid of fat? As it is, fat is something nearly everyone would hate to have and getting rid of, while it sounds good, remains to be a challenge because of the tedious processes entailed. Some would even have wished that eating can help lose weight or get rid of fat. Fortunately, there are certain foods that can actually help shed the unwanted pounds and they can easily be included in one’s diet. These are the natural fat burners one can try.

Grapefruits can be cut into chunks, added to spinach salad, with shrimp or sliced jicama. Selecting a fat burner may depend on your taste preference.

Almonds are another fat burner option. Eating almonds together with a healthy diet every day can help zap fat as shown by diet-study participants of a research published in the Internal Journal for Obesity, who lost 18% of their body fat. 22 almonds equal one serving which is the ideal consumption every day. Dark chocolate apparently is high in antioxidants which help in the prevention of fat cells accumulation in the body which is contributory to obesity and heart disease. A half-ounce of dark chocolate melted and spread on a cracker will only give you 98 calories. Navy beans are loaded with resistant starch which is a strong and power-packed fat burner. Including a half-cup of navy beans or other resistant starch-rich foods in one meal every day can burn 25% more fat, according to a University of Colorado research.

Top 10 Weight Loss Tips for Moms - Tip 2 Don't Count Calories, Count Nutrients

I'm sure you have heard people say that weight-loss is all about the amount of calories we take in versus the amount of calories we burn off during each day? For years people have been saying weight-loss is a simple, calories in calories out equation. The "thinking" goes like this: If you eat less and exercise more you will HAVE TO create a caloric efficiency, and then you will lose weight and be healthy. But if (and when) this doesn't work it is because you LACK WILL POWER with the calorie in calorie out diet. Does this sound familiar? If this really worked I wouldn't have spent the last decade researching and experimenting with different theories on weight loss.
I did quickly find out though in my early days of doing the "D" word (dieting!) countless times that when I restricted my caloric intake 2 things happened. First, the scale told me that I had lost weight, and very quickly. And secondly, when I began eating again another thing always happened, I always gained the weight back, and sometimes even MORE! While it appeared that I had lost weight, I had actually just lost water and on longer, more extreme calorie restricted diets, I lost muscle, and this is a very bad thing, lean muscle is attractive and healthy for women, and it looks good!
So, why doesn't this simple theory of calories in versus calories out actually work, it seems very logical. This is because our bodies are far too complex for this simple formula. We have evolved and survived over thousands of years. Our ancestors experienced times of famine, and during these times with little to no food their bodies did what they are designed to do in order to keep them alive, they turned themselves into FAT STORING MACHINES! And we have evolved from our ancestors, and therefore our bodies do the exact same thing when we restrict our calories. Our bodies think we are entering into famine and our bodies go into fat storing mode.
When you eat less calories your body actually go into starvation mode, which SLOWS DOWN YOUR METABOLISM and CAUSES YOU TO GAIN WEIGHT! And I don't need to point out that this is the exact opposite of what you are trying to do. Not to mention the misery you experience when you are on a low calorie diet. So don't count calories, they are not worth your time. Count nutrients instead.

Does Calorie Counting Work for Weight Loss?

When you think of dieting and weight loss, one of the first thoughts that comes to mind is often calorie counting. That is the generally accepted idea that if you eat less and move more (exercise) that you will lose weight. Or if your intake of calories from your diet is less than the number of calories that you burn in your daily activities then you will lose weight.
While this concept is actually fundamentally correct, it fails to cover for some fairly basic biological and psychological concepts. For a start to say that all calories are created equal is somewhat of a myth. If you are accurately measuring the energy released to your body from a unit of food you might say that an apple and a doughnut of equal calorific value will provide your body with the same amount of energy. However as we all know you feel very different after eating an apple than you do after eating a doughnut. This is because an apple will cause a much smaller surge of sugars into your bloodstream which will in turn mean there will be a much smaller release of insulin after eating an apple compared to eating a doughnut.
Following eating the doughnut, excessive insulin release will result in a lowering of blood sugars and also a formation of fat to store the excess energy provided by the large amounts of refined sugar in the doughnut. This has the overall effect of making you feel tired due to the sudden drop in blood sugars, in addition you will feel hungry and crave more sugar due to the same reason, and your body will preferentially store more fat.
So while 2 completely different foods may contain the same number of calories, as they will affect your body in very different ways, you can be sure that the overall result will be more likely for weight gain if you eat foods high in sugar compared to natural foods such as fruits, vegetables, lean meats and fish.
What we eat has so much more bearing over whether we will lose weight (and keep it off) than simple calorie counting. If we change what we eat, then we can break food addictions, reduce cravings brought on by excessive sugar intake, switch off our body's tendency to store fat and feel much more satisfied by the food we are eating. By focusing on what we eat rather than how much you will naturally reach a healthy weight without feeling hungry all the time and without the risk of gaining all the weight back after the diet is over.
