Health and Fitness: Lifestyle? Or Life Interruption?

This is a powerful question, indeed. This caption is the crux of why some people are successful at permanent weight loss and others are not. It centers around how you view the actions that lead to that healthy, fit body.
Obesity is a serious problem in the U.S. today. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than one-third of adults and one sixth of children in America are obese. In the past twenty years, obesity rates doubled for adults and tripled for children. If these trends continue, by the time today's children reach adulthood, obesity will be the norm and healthy weight the exception. In fact, for the first time in our country's history, the current generation of children in America may have shorter life expectancies than their parents.

SO WHICH IS IT FOR YOU?
Is health & fitness a way of living for you? Something you do on an on-going basis? Do you plan your meals, at least loosely, for the entire week? Do you choose healthy meals to prepare and go to the grocery store with a list? Do you strive to make constant improvements in your decisions about what to eat and how active to be? If so, good for you! Your mindset favors a healthy lifestyle and will serve you well.

Or do you consider losing weight and becoming more fit a two week endeavor to fit into a new pair of jeans or a new outfit for a special occasion? When starting a new "diet" do you say to yourself "How long do I have to do this?" "When can I have a treat?" Does it eventually get in the way of all the other things you want to do? Does it get hard enough that you give up and retreat back to your comfort zone? If so, you view health & fitness as a temporary fix. Unfortunately, it will yield temporary results AND make it harder for you to lose weight the next time.

SO HOW DO YOU TRANSITION TO A HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE?
To transition means to have a transformation or metamorphosis; to cease being one thing to become another. For example, a caterpillar morphs into a butterfly. You must be willing to let go of unhealthy habits you know aren't good for you. It helps to examine why you are clinging to them in the first place. Then you have to be willing to give yourself the things you need to be the new you. You must believe deep down you deserve it.

To have a healthy lifestyle, you must decide why it is important to you to be healthier and more fit. The answer to that question is a very personal one. There are as many answers as there are people. Dig deep to determine your goals, values, beliefs and intentions. Identify roadblocks, real or imagined. Do you have any underlying beliefs that no longer serve you?

Finally, you must make it a priority. If you assign it a high priority, other things won't get in the way of your health; your health will get in the way of the other stuff. If you are really honest with yourself, you'll admit that you know deep down that time spent on caring for yourself is time well spent.

Takeaway Can Also Be Healthy

The difference between healthy food and healthy exercise is that you can get other people to make the healthy food for you while you have to do the exercise yourself. So why not do it? If you do not want to cook, then get healthy takeaway instead. And use the extra time and energy to exercise more.

Healthy takeaway is a very smart strategy if you live in a bigger city, if you are single, and if you don't have children living at home. The bigger the city you live in, the better the range of healthy, tasty and cheap takeaway food. The more single you are, the less motivated you are to cook just for yourself. Or maybe you need someone who will cook for you. If you don't have children or if your children are not living at home then you are less likely to have the motivation to cook.

It is well documented from the sociological research that cooking is a social phenomenon. If you eat alone, you are not very motivated to cook. I only make food the days where my children are staying with me. The other days I more or less always go for the healthy takeaway. I would never cook only for myself. I have made calculations and found out that it is actually cheaper and healthier for me that I pick up food instead of cook.

Picking up food is often what motivates me to exercise on days when I'm really lazy. I need something to eat, and so I might as well walk over to the takeaway place - maybe even take a small detour to have a look around, now that I have come out.

When I have guests, I usually also serve takeaway, because cooking unfortunately doesn't interest me, and I'm not particularly good at it. But I have a great respect for people who like cooking.

Nutritionally cooking is especially important to get a sufficient amount and variety of vegetables. Other healthy foods can be eaten almost directly from the package without any special preparation, for example: whole meal bread, fish products and fruit. But most vegetables taste very boring without being cooked.
The healthiest takeaway therefore has a high and varied content of vegetables and a high level of taste. In the big cities there are many places where you can get a wide range of different tasty, healthy salads. Remember some protein from beans, peas, lentils, fish or meat to go with the salad.

3 Ways To Lose Your Gut Forever

There is nothing worse than taking a look down and realizing that you can't see your feet for your gut. There are plenty of folks who struggle with weight, and for many that comes in the form of a large spare tire encircling the waist. Of all the areas where you can carry a few extra pounds, the gut is the area that tends to be most prominent. Getting clothes to fit can become a real chore, and your confidence can take a hit when your belly casts a large shadow on the ground in front of you. If you are bigger than you want to be and are looking to lose your gut, read on to discover three great tips that will help you do just that.

1. Watch what you put in your body - We are all aware that fast foods and other processed foods is definitely not the best thing we can eat on a daily basis. While cutting back or eliminating those items will help you lose your gut, there are other things you need to watch out for today. Alcohol is a big contributor to a large gut, so it's advised that you cut back on the beer as much as possible, too. Try to eat a balanced, healthy diet, but if you are put in a position where you have no choice but to eat junk food, try to limit it to no more than 10% of your total diet.

2. Stop doing crunches - The fitness industry has done a fantastic job of convincing us all that ab machines and other such equipment will melt away the fat and leave us with flat, perfectly toned bellies. There is no denying that you will strengthen your stomach muscles by doing crunches but trying to lose your gut in this way will end up being a total lost cause. If you want to burn fat through exercise, look at doing a cardio workout every day, as this will help you start shedding the weight. If you do the crunches, too, you might just have that great looking belly once all the fat melts away via cardio.

3. Get enough sleep - There are many different reasons why extra weight will start gathering around your waist, with what you eat only being a fraction of the problem. Not getting enough rest is another factor that comes into play when weight gain starts to take a hold. When you are tired, your body needs more energy in order to run at full capacity. The way you get that is through eating, with more fuel required to prevent you from running on empty. Try to commit to a regular 8 hour per night sleep schedule so that you can steer away from snacking and still operate at your body's full potential.

3 Reasons to LOVE Your Workout: Confessions of a Fitness Addict

I sometimes get strange stares when I tell people I love to workout. But it's true! I look forward to that time of day when I can step away from everything else and just concentrate on my body. I have truly become an addict. I get cranky when I miss a workout and my day somehow feels incomplete. I absolutely love the feeling I get from working out.
You, too can love your workout. The longer you stick with it, the more engrained it will be in your habits and the more results you'll see. Even in 6 weeks, the results can be dramatic.
What are 3 things you can love about your workout?
1-Relieves stress
Exercise lowers cortisol, a stress hormone. You can take what could be a negative emotion like anger, frustration or anger and use it as fuel for your workout. You can successfully redirect that negative emotion into a positive outcome.
Exercise is also a great distraction to get your mind off problems and put you in a better state to be able to deal with them. If nothing else, it can get you out of the four walls you normally stare at, giving you a fresh perspective.
That deep breath and sense of calm you get while doing cardio is hard to replace with anything else. Everything feels clear - your lungs, your skin, your thoughts. It's a great time to think as you're pounding away the miles.
2-Feels great
Have you ever heard anyone say, "Man, I sure do regret that I worked out today." Probably not! But you most likely have heard someone talk about how proud she was that she DID workout today or three times this week.
It just plain feels good to workout. Exercise increases endorphins which are your body's "feel-good" chemicals. There is often a feeling of euphoria with working out; a "high." Who can't use some of that? There is a sense of accomplishment and pride that comes with it. It's what keeps people coming back time after time... and the fact that they like the way their clothes are fitting and the positive comments they are receiving from people who are noticing a change in them.
Besides, when else do you get to listen to obnoxiously loud music in the middle of the day? Playlists make great workout buddies. You can adjust your music to the type of activity you're doing, the speed at which you want to do it and your overall mood or the mood you want to have. Music is a great pick-me-up. At the end of a workout, not only will you feel good from the workout, but from the music as well.
3-See progress & succeed at something
When you work out consistently, you will see progress. You'll see progress towards your goals whether that be fat loss or muscle gain. You'll also notice that you can do things today that you couldn't do last month. You'll notice you can go longer, faster and at a higher resistance doing cardio and that it becomes easier. Maybe last week you couldn't walk on the treadmill and carry on a conversation without being winded but now you can talk with ease. Maybe you started out doing a chest press with 10 pounds and now you use 20. Progress means success. And we all like the feeling of success. If you succeed in one area, it gives you confidence to succeed in another.
Did anything of those sound familiar? You've probably heard or experienced some or all of these things already.
And here's a bonus reason to love your workout:
When you workout, it gives you added incentive to stay on your meal plan. If you go to the gym an hour a day, there are still twenty three hours in a day to screw up your results. Who wants to work that hard in the gym just to blow it with her diet? Working out regularly adds some incentive to eat right.

Is Coconut Oil The Ultimate Fat Burner For Weight Loss?

When I was working in the fitness industry, the amount of people that would ask me about fat burning and fat blocking products was unbelievable (think high caffeine and guarana). They generally speed up your metabolism which will come with longer term side effects. The reason for this is that they elevate your heart rate which will end up raising cortisol levels. If you know anything about cortisol then you will understand that this prompts the body to hang on to body fat (hint: I feel this is why stressed people struggle to loose weight).

WHY COCONUT OIL FOR WEIGHT LOSS?

Without trying to get technical, coconut oil is a saturated fatty acid that is predominately a MCT oil (medium-chain triglycerides). This is very different to most of the vegetable oils on the market today.
The short and medium-chain fatty acids which can be found in coconut oil (and grass-fed butter which I use too), are sent directly to our liver and used directly for energy. So this means:

1. It does not get stored in fat cells as easily as long-chain fatty acids, and produce ketones which gives us a steady source of energy

2. Enhances thermogenesis which increases fat burning

3. Helps eliminate food cravings with increased feelings of satiety
According to Christine Cronau's book the Fat Revolution, there are studies of participants that were fed the same diet which was not designed for weight loss. But some of them were fed medium-chain fatty acids and
they lost weight, whilst the weight in the rest of the group remained the same.

It also compared diets with three types of fat intake. Low fat, monounsaturated fat and coconut oil. There was a 60% reduction in fat storage for the groups consuming coconut oil.

SO WHATS THE MAGIC DOSAGE?
If you do not consume many natural fats including coconut oil, start in small amounts or the toilet may come calling. Add a teaspoon to a smoothie, or if a sugar craving comes calling eat a teaspoon straight from the jar as this will kill those cravings. Cook with it or just start adding it to things where you usually wouldn't. I have it in a high fat smoothie most mornings.

I consume up to 3-4 tablespoons of coconut oil a day. But I eat a low-carb and natural high fat diet, especially after getting my DNA results back.

So if you are on a weight loss plan, eliminate sugar, grain, soy and all processed fats & oils. Increase your coconut oil up to 2-4 tablespoons a day for your steady source of energy and over time you will feel the magic happen!

This Is More Fun Than Getting Fat!

What if in the next 3 weeks you designed and followed a very simple exercise routine? What if in the next 3 weeks you developed the habit of eating smaller meals? Essentially, you learned to "eat to live and not live to eat"? You might be amazed at how your body responds.

If you start a tiny little, stress-free exercise routine and follow it daily for 21 days, you might just have created a habit that will benefit you for a lifetime. The key here is that it must be so easy that you have not reluctance in doing it each day. Don't be intimidated by all those TV ads that show people panting and sweating as they try to be super-fit. You will be very impressed at what just a few simple exercises and possibly a daily stroll will do for your physique.

How about food? If you could learn to be happy with meals less than 500 calories each, combined with your simple exercise program, you would lose weight and re-shape your body. At the end of 3 weeks your life could very well be changed forever.

Three weeks is such a short time to create life changing habits. We can all do it. It's really no giant thing. But it does provide giant payoffs.

What if your morning exercise routine became as natural as brushing your teeth? Keep it simple enough and it can be. What if you made a list of meals you enjoy that are less than 500 calories each and you stuck with those meals most days for 3 weeks? Does that sound hard? Of course it's not.

The physical and mental rewards of slimming down and firming up are priceless. Not only are you being kind to your body but you are enjoying a more attractive appearance, more energy, and much more self confidence. Losing weight and getting back in shape is definitely more fun than getting fat!
In this day of instant gratification people think they can drop pounds fast by purchasing magical pills, machines and potions. That's stupid! You are making no life changing habits. You aren't enjoying the experience of using your body's own functionality to get down to a weight it is comfortable with.
Try the suggestions above for 3 weeks. See for yourself that your body is ready, willing and even eager to get stronger, slimmer, more agile and more attractive. Don't compare yourself with anyone else. Don't be intimidated by anyone else. Just allow yourself to enjoy the ride.

The author is just wrapping up 3 weeks of playing Joe's Fat Book - The Weight Loss Game. It has been tremendously rewarding and is documented on his site http://joesfatbook.com The rewards of simple exercise and eating smaller meals are priceless. Not only that, but you will find that using simple tools to monitor your progress provides you a win almost every day.

What Is the Best Cardio?

Cardio can be used as a great way to help anyone get into better shape. It is a good way to burn calories, and it improves your cardiovascular health. Many people out there are wondering what the best form of cardio is that will help to get them ripped. Some people might think that sprinting is the best form of cardio, while others may think that it is walking.
I am here to tell you that there is no "best" form of cardio. It is really just a personal preference on what it is that you like to do. If you like to go out for nice walks around your neighborhood, then that is your best cardio. This is because you will stick to it and not quit, you will be consistent with it so to speak. If sprinting is not enjoyable to you and you hate it, then you will likely end up quitting and not doing any cardio at all.
Some of you still might be thinking that sprinting is better than walking or jogging because it burn more calories. This is actually not true. If you walk, jog, or sprint 100 yards, you will burn the same amount of calories. The only difference is the time factor. You will spend a lot less time if you sprint or jog the 100 yards as opposed to walking it. This is why some people out there like to do high intensity interval training (HIIT) because it can burn a lot of calories in a short period of time. Doing HIIT is absolutely fine as long as you stick to it. On the other hand, if HIIT is too intense for you and you have the extra time, then you can walk and burn just as many calories.
It is also true that HIIT releases free fatty acids into the bloodstream. If you then followed the HIIT with a slow steady state cardio like jogging or walking, you would then burn off those free fatty acids released into the bloodstream. This is a great way to do cardio, but it will only work to burn fat if you are in a caloric deficit at the end of the day. This is why it does not matter if sprinting stimulates more fat burning hormones. If you are not in a caloric deficit, then any form of cardio will not do you any good. This is why I like to think of cardio as a tool that you can use to get in shape. Cardio is not a crutch that you have to rely on at all times. If you have a solid diet plan, then you can get in shape without cardio. At the end of the day, the best form of cardio is the cardio that you like and will continue to do.

Losing Weight with Fat Burners

Healthy living – this is what most people aim for at the beginning of the year where New Year’s resolutions always include a pledge to lose weight. And yes, for a while, people get to it but after a while, the resolution dies a natural death. Maybe this is because people are making the wrong pledge. Instead of losing weight, shouldn’t it be losing or getting rid of fat? As it is, fat is something nearly everyone would hate to have and getting rid of, while it sounds good, remains to be a challenge because of the tedious processes entailed. Some would even have wished that eating can help lose weight or get rid of fat. Fortunately, there are certain foods that can actually help shed the unwanted pounds and they can easily be included in one’s diet. These are the natural fat burners one can try.

Pears, according to a University of Rio de Janeiro study can help lose pounds. The study featured women who ate three pears every day and found out that they consumed less daily calories and lost more weight than the women who didn’t eat pears. Pears are rich in fiber and one pear can easily help you feel full and prevent you from eating more than needed. Pears should be eaten before a meal to help control hunger. Eating the fruit with the skin is the best way to eat it as the beneficial fiber is in the skin. Grapefruit is another natural fat burner that you can add to your diet. One half of grapefruit before each meal can also help you lose up to one pound a week, without the need to alter or change the diet. A compound in grapefruit, according to a study author, Dr. Ken Fujioka, helps in the regulation of insulin, keeping it low. Grapefruits can be cut into chunks, added to spinach salad, with shrimp or sliced jicama. Selecting a fat burner may depend on your taste preference.

Almonds are another fat burner option. Eating almonds together with a healthy diet every day can help zap fat as shown by diet-study participants of a research published in the Internal Journal for Obesity, who lost 18% of their body fat. 22 almonds equal one serving which is the ideal consumption every day. Dark chocolate apparently is high in antioxidants which help in the prevention of fat cells accumulation in the body which is contributory to obesity and heart disease. A half-ounce of dark chocolate melted and spread on a cracker will only give you 98 calories. Navy beans are loaded with resistant starch which is a strong and power-packed fat burner. Including a half-cup of navy beans or other resistant starch-rich foods in one meal every day can burn 25% more fat, according to a University of Colorado research.

These are just five of the many natural fat burner options available for everyone’s consumption. Weight loss need not be that difficult anymore. It’s just a matter of selecting a fat burner that will suit your taste, lifestyle and weight loss objective. If you prefer the natural fat burners, you can check other fruits or foods that contain ingredients that are helpful in burning fat.

Alternatively, other natural fat burners are also available in supplements or pills form. With the innumerable fat burner supplements available in the market today, you need to make sure that you select the safe one and along with taking the supplements, you follow a balanced and healthy diet and exercise program to get the best results.

Your Fitness Success Begins With Your Belief

When an elephant is being domesticated, in order to be a beast of burden, it is trained to believe that it cannot escape. First, the elephant is tied to a tree with a chain. It tries and tries to break free, struggling against the strength of the chain. Unable to break free, the elephant gives up.
The trainer then replaces the chain with a rope. Discouraged from its lack of success against the chain and still feeling a tug on its leg, the elephant only halfheartedly attempts to free itself from the rope. Again success is far off and the elephant gives up.
Finally, the elephant is tethered by the fragile reed of a lotus flower. Feeling the tug on its leg and recalling its past failures; the elephant believes it cannot escape and so doesn't even try. Even though an elephant can move tremendous amounts of weight, it has lost its belief that it can surmount the tether holding it in captivity. All because it was trained and taught to accept its failure against the chain as the ONLY truth.
Many people trying to lose weight are just like the elephant. Having attempted to lose weight several times unsuccessfully they succumb to a belief that they just can't do it. Even though they will begin a new fitness program, say for new years or some momentous event like a class reunion, their past attempts and failures sit in their subconscious telling them, "You can't succeed at this." Subconsciously they sabotage their results and, in effect, prove themselves to be right. How can this cycle be broken and how can new beliefs be developed?
The first step is to changing our beliefs are to know what they are and where they came from. In order to really root out the cause, I believe it is necessary to start at the beginning; the adolescent years. Think back to your earliest childhood memories that involved sports, athletics, even recess and P.E. What do you remember being told or what were your feelings about them? What about body image, when did you become body-conscious and what surrounded that? How did it come about?
As children we begin to filter our world through what other people tell us. If you learned early that girls aren't supposed to be athletic or when you attempted a sport and were ridiculed for being clumsy or uncoordinated, then you began to set those as your beliefs. The more those beliefs were reinforced by others, adults in your life or by your peers, the more you began to believe it to be true in your heart.
To heal this and be able to create new beliefs it is important to realize that your were just a child. Your body was still developing and learning sports is a skill, one that is developed over time. It's also necessary to realize you were taught some else's beliefs. By recognizing these two things you open your heart to developing new beliefs that serve you.
To develop proficiency at anything, including exercise, it is necessary to practice. I believe exercise is a practiced art, much like martial arts. It takes time and discipline. Having the belief that you can learn it and become good at it is necessary, especially the longer you do it. A key to success is changing up your programming. When you do this and you begin a new program, you will often feel like a beginner again. At those times its good to know you can and will get better.
Let me share a personal story about when I learned this priceless principle. It all started in the 3rd grade when I began playing league basketball. I was tall, lanky, and uncoordinated. In fact, my lack of coordination was why my parents signed me up for basketball in the first place. I get to enjoy those moments from time to time because I played at a time when video cameras were a new thing, and my parents had one (it was a big one that you actually had to carry the VCR with you.) My parents recorded me at one of my games and I spent more time pulling up my socks than anything else. I couldn't dribble the ball and forget about shooting.
But I did do something right. I kept going to PRACTICE. By continuously practicing those skills I improved. So much so that in 6th grade I was invited to the "Screaming Eagles" basketball camp in California a year earlier than the youngest registration allowed. I was also the team captain of the basketball team in 7th and 8th grade.
Exercise and fitness is a practiced art. I have never met anyone that "naturally" knew how to add muscle or drop body fat. It was always done through trial and error, perseverance, and practice. Learning the skills needed for their body to reach the goals they set. By continuing, setting small attainable goals and through reaching those goals you develop a new belief in yourself.
Those in our past are not the only culprits in developing our beliefs. There is a much greater threat and it comes from a trusted source. Look for my next article to see who the wolf in sheep's clothing is.

Considering Liposuction When You Are Unable to Lose Those Last Pounds

If you have been consistently losing weight but have now stopped and have bulges that will not budge, then you will want to look into liposuction. This procedure uses a suction tube to basically vacuum our fat. This is something that can get rid of those problem areas.
If you are interested in liposuction, then you will need to consider several areas. You will need to look at your health, plastic surgeons, and the results of this procedure. Taking the time to look at these areas is important. After looking at them, you should be close to being able to choose a surgeon and decide if this procedure is right for you.
Your health is an important consideration because you might have a problem that could cause liposuction to give you severe side effects. Part of your health might include chemical habits such as smoking. It is important to consider this, because the surgery could have negative results if you do smoke.
Once you know your health checks out, you will want to begin looking for a plastic surgeon to do your liposuction. Some things to consider about a surgeon include him or her having an easy-going manner, knowledge ability, and a good reputation for the work that is done. Going to a consultation will help you to know whether a doctor is right for your situation.
It is important to also consider the results of liposuction. You might think that your entire body will be transformed, but it might not end up being as dramatic as you would desire. Make sure to look at before-and-after photos before making the decision to have procedure. The knowledge that every outcome is going to be different may cause you to not want to risk it. The procedure will bring change, but the procedure would likely need to be accompanied by other procedures to really show a major difference.
Another type of result that you might want to consider is the side effects. Most surgeries involve some type of negative side effect that could take place. if you do not want to take the risk, then you might decide that you do not want to have the procedure.
After looking at these areas, you should have enough information to go forward with liposuction. If you are concerned about knowing whether or not you are a good candidate, leave that up to your plastic surgeon. He or she might ask you some medical questions, and as long as there are no problems, you will likely get the okay. If you are still unsure, then you may want to seek out a second opinion.

5 Tips To Achieve Weight Loss Using The Law of Attraction

1. Visualize Your Goal In Order to Achieve It
You can create just about anything you desire. All you have to do is give your mind an image of what you desire, via a process known as visualization. To obtain what you desire, you have to be specific regarding what that is. Therefore, start by asking yourself some basic questions:
* What is your dream weight for your height?
* How will you truly feel as soon as you slim down?
* How can sliming down improve your happiness and the lifestyle of your family?
Visualization is all about utilizing your imagination to 'fantasize' about what you want in life. When you visualize, you have to use all 5 senses - hearing, feeling, seeing, smelling and or tasting. However, bear in mind that even though visualization is an extremely powerful tool in obtaining what you want, visualization alone will not help you shed pounds. You need to take action.
2. Attract Healthier Eating Habits
You may have gained weight because of your eating habits. Focus on all the healthful, fantastic tasting foods and drinks that you can consume, rather than thinking about the foods and drinks that you should avoid. Say to your inner self that you are choosing healthier foods and drinks and that you enjoy eating the most nourishing and delicious foods.
3. Attract Healthier Workout Habits
Aside from eating correctly, you also need to workout regularly in order to shed excess body fat. A lot of people do not like working out. This might be because they find it boring or difficult. However once you begin to exercise regularly, you will find that it can improve your mood and health at the same time.
4. Build a Vision Board
A vision board can be described as a collection of images which represent your goals and vision and keep you inspired as you work to attain them. It is a space where you gather all your thoughts, utilizing short quotes, sketches and photos.
You can download pictures from the internet or cut out images from magazines. These pictures should depict the type of body you wish to have. You can also add images of what you will do as soon as you attain your ideal weight, or images of the kinds of foods which will become part of your brand new, healthier way of life. Look at these images and pictures everyday. Allow them to motivate you.
5. Live like a slim person
Whenever you want to eat a meal, think about how a thin person might eat. Would he or she hurry be going for a second serving of lunch, or would the person eat slowly and carefully? Would he or she drink sugar filled drinks, or could the person drink green tea or water through the entire lunch to fill up faster?
Weight loss using the law of attraction is certainly possible. When you visualize a thinner you, and you live like a thin individual, you will certainly slim down.

Understanding How To Get Rid Of Cellulite

Cellulite are deposits of fat, toxins and water just under the skin. It takes years of unhealthy eating to accumulate these fat cells. It won't go away in a day. Most of time they remain out of sight under the clothes we wear.

How to Stay Motivated and Achieve Your Fitness Goals

Motivation can be one of the biggest pitfalls when it comes to achieving your ultimate fitness goals. Without motivation, you may stop working out altogether or lose some of your intensity in the gym. In this article I will be discussing some key tips on how you can stay motivated at all times and not have to worry about quitting.
The first tip that I recommend you to do is to create a vision board. A vision board is basically just a big board with pictures on it that you can hang in any place where you will see it often. Put pictures on the vision board from the Internet that highly motivates you. These can be pictures of healthy food, people exercising, or even movie stars that you wish to look like. A vision board works wonders because it follows something called the law of attraction. The law of attraction simply states that you will achieve and attract the things in your life that you focus on the most. For example if you focus and look at a picture of healthy food, then you will start to make more conscious choices about eating healthier foods.
The next tip is really crucial as well and that is to be around and make friends with other people that like to workout as well. It has been said that you are who your friends are and this is very true. If you hang around people who are lazy and have not exercised in years, then those friends will not be very motivating to make you want to workout. If you hang around people who are in better shape than you, then you will always be pushing yourself to reach the level that your friends are at.
The final thing that you can do to stay motivated and focused is to write down your goals. Simply thinking, "I want to lose weight" is not good enough. By writing down your fitness goals, you make them real and you will hold yourself accountable if you do not achieve them. It is also very important to set a date on your goals. This way you know when you have to achieve it, and it won't be something that you eventually get done. A good example of a goal would be, "I weigh 150 pounds by September 1." This way you are writing the goal as if it has already happened and you have the deadline as well. If you don't achieve the goal by the set date, then just set a new date to achieve the goal by. Also there is no such thing as having too many goals so write down your goals today!
